During PM Narendra Modiji’s current state visit to Washington, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, a 7.5-carat eco- friendly laboratory-grown diamond.
The diamond was created in a Surat, Gujarat, factory by replicating the process that occurs underground in the formation of natural diamonds.
PM Modi was given a warm reception at the White House by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, where they exchanged presents, talked about a variety of topics, and paid honor to India’s regions.
Lab-Grown Diamonds: The Future of Gemstones
The lab-grown diamond that was gifted to the First Lady is a clear indicator that there are new dynamics in the diamond industry.
As the consumers are becoming more and more conscious about the environment, the demand for products that can fulfill their functionality while being environment friendly is increasing. Synthetically cultivated diamonds are as good as those mined and yet do not pose any harm to humans or the environment.
Such investment enables India to meet global demand while also establishing its competitiveness in the field of sustainable luxury.
With a combination of pro-technology and implementing new methodologies, India is providing a path to the ethical and environmental revolution within the gemstone business.
Perhaps this is why Prime Minister Modi chose this gift, which has a specific meaning and connotation.
A Proud Moment for India
This perfectly complements India’s tradition in diamond cutting and at the same time the concept has its vision for the future. The 7. 5-carat lab-grown diamond is not just a mesmerizing gem, it is an emblem of India’s spirit of innovation and responsible development.

In fact for India this gift is a moment of pride. It has always taken pride in the craftsmanship of its craftsmen, the sophistication of its scientists and the perfect symbiosis between the past and the future. This increases the importance of Indian laboratory-grown diamonds as the global industry continues to embrace the production of such diamonds.
